Chapter 34 Part 7: What do the breadcrumbs reveal?
I was inspired to take a trip down memory lane and found these photographic gems. Looking back at little me gave me all the feels. I laughed at the middle-school age Emily who was sneakily and ironically reading the Kama Sutra. I remembered feeling like a birthday princess in my fancy blue satin dress. I could still feel the deep ache for love that’s alive in my eyes at eight years old.
Now, here I am - decades later.
A devotee to sacred sexuality practices.
Fully embracing my own royalty and divinity.
Still wide-open in my heart with endless depth for love.
Do we really change? Or do we just iteratively get closer and closer to who we really are, who we’ve always been?
If you look back on your own life, can you see the breadcrumbs of who you’ve always been? They might be tucked in an old journal or captured in your expression in old photographs. Consider this your invitation to do some inner-sleuthing, inner-spelunking.
Maybe the highest version of yourself is just who you’ve always been and you just need to clean the mirror to see it.
In this season of remembering and coming back to center for myself, I come back to my values, my internal compass. I made this lil’ cutie diagram and hung it on my cork board as a way to daily remind myself of who I am and what I want to move closer to in my life.
My values help me make decisions.
My values make me feel at home in my own life.
Last night was the Leo Full Moon and the question I pondered is: how can I show up as my biggest, boldest, most audaciously authentic self?
And I look backwards and forwards and within.
Looking back, I see that every version, every age has loved to perform and create. Looking forward, I see how my values are guiding me in a life of play, adventure, service and inspiration. Looking within, I see old stories to release (again and again, release). Looking within, I see that loving myself fully right now is the perfect way to celebrate the Leo energy for this week.
If I were to capture myself in a photo today, I wonder what will be evident to me a decade from now. I wonder what breadcrumbs I’m leaving behind...
